Wayne brings six years of professional teaching experience to WyzAnt Tutoring. In 2000 he earned a bachelor's degree from Loyola University, where he double majored in Fine Arts, with an emphasis on applied and studio art, and English, with a concentration in creative writing. He went on to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching, with a focus on public education, from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois, as well as a type 04 certificate which qualified him to teach Early Childhood Education in the state of Illinois.
Wayne was born in Oak Park, Illinois, and now resides in Elmwood Park, Illinois. He is thirty-four years old, and has a three-year old daughter named Genesis. He is expecting a second child around May of 2013.
During his years of teaching Wayne has had the opportunity to use his knowledge of French with his students and their parents on more than one occasion. In addition to French he also speaks Italian and Spanish.
As an educator, Wayne sincerely believes that extracurricular activities are essential for the development of both the mind and the body. In 1996 he was the captain of the Leyden track and field team, which sent several athletes to compete in the state finals. While working at a private school he was asked to serve as the interim music/dance instructor. He has a wide variety of hobbies and interests that include Argentine tango, sprinting and middle distance running, weight lifting, world music, oil painting, classical piano and Tae Kwon Do, in which he acquired an advanced black belt. In 2010 he played the role of Carlos Gardel in a stage production of "New to Tango."
