Hello! My name is Kesha. I graduated Loyola University Chicago with Magna Cum Laude in Biology and minor in Bioethics with extensive experience in education and anthropology. I am aspiring to be a physician one day. I enjoy trying new things and being invested in the other people's lives. I started Stop Diabetes Loyola, a non-profit organization designed to empower students and parents to make healthier lifestyle choices. The program has been very successful in the Chicagoland area with its multiple health outreaches to Chicago Public School students and local community centers. I have also worked extensively with the refugee community: welcoming them to our strange culture, providing English skills, academic tutoring and resources, and mentoring them through challenging times. Education is something that I value greatly and have been involved with through providing mentoring and tutoring to others in need for over 4 years. I have worked in after-school programs, independent contractor tutoring, and mentoring for students of all ages from K-adult.

I also enjoy cooking and love science. Thus, my tutoring style is a combination of different ingredients to make the best possible recipe for success. My style is very hands-on creating a collaborative, encouraging, and personalized environment for students to ask questions and tackle learning. By asking the student to take on a leadership role in answering questions and solving problems, each student builds confidence in addition to knowledge. I also work with students to identify goals and monitor progress along the way. To add a little garnish, I incorporate note-taking strategies and study skills into my tutoring sessions.

I know about the long pressure filled path of education on students because I have taken it and in some ways I am still on it. Yet, I remain dedicated to a lifetime of learning and inspiring others to do the same. I am very excited to help students and families navigate the challenging path. Good luck on your journey, and I hope that I too can be a part of it!
