I am a tutor in Mandarin Chinese but I also have some other areas where I can teach students.
My method of tutoring is based on the student's curriculum. I bring my own materials; the materials I bring are a English-Chinese dictionary and an illustrated reference dictionary (within 5 years of current year). I also have a few lesson books and cultural books for free lance lessons.
My past sessions in tutoring took place in a library or the students residence. At the library we would book a room in order for the student to focus on his area of study. At the residence, the student's guardian would also be supervising and give input on what the student needs to focus his study on. My tutoring sessions usually last from a hour to an hour & thirty minutes.
Before I start tutoring a student, we go over on what the student's goal is. After discussion we create a schedule to keep based on what the student needs to accomplish, the times agreed upon and the rate. I will also let students and their guardians on what resources I have and will bring them if requested.
