While tutoring is anything but easy, my philosophy is something rather simple: A good tutor is passionate, organized, prepared, patient and up-to-date with the latest knowledge. My gift is that I break down complex concepts into smaller pieces, easy for students to comprehend. All students are welcome: high school students, Post-secondary students including adults at any level: undergraduates, graduates, and professional students such as aspirants to Medical, Dentistry and Nursing schools.

My work experience is equally effective; it entails working as an Instructor in the Biology Department at Idaho State University, and as a Science Teacher at SABIS International Network. In addition, I worked for many years as a research assistant in biochemistry and microbiology labs at the college of medicine at the University of Iowa. Furthermore, I have tutored math and chemistry at DePaul University as well as Anatomy and Physiology at Oakton Community College. Moreover, I worked as a supervisor at Pearson Institute of Education, planning the training, evaluation and grading of national standardized tests. Most importantly, I will work in earnest to make you enthusiastic to learn and do well on your exams.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have two undergraduate degrees in biology and chemistry (Bio-chemistry). In addition to completing graduate biochemistry classes and research for M.S. in medical sciences, I have been taking additional coursework toward another advanced degree in biological/biochemical sciences. Courses include metabolism, structure and function of bio-molecules, and advanced biochemistry laboratory. Besides the educational background, I have been tutoring the subject to many students who were very happy to work with me. Knowledge, experience, and flexible methods of delivering the subject will make the difference in your world.

I have a B.S. in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. My G.P.A. for all biology classes is 3.8/4.0. I have tutored this subject for at least 10 years, including general biology, microbiology, genetics, anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, and cell and molecular biology. More importantly, almost all students have been completely impressed with my knowledge and method of explaining biological principles and concepts. Do not entrust your biology grade to inexperienced tutors when you have me, with a proven record of students aiming only to pass general biology but ending up with A's and B's. Be an A student.

Chemistry is an essential subject to so many other fields: medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and even geology and engineering. I have been helping students understand chemistry for many years using students' own unleashed talents. In addition to my B.S. degree in chemistry, my graduate work relied heavily on chemistry laws and principles. Do not delay your future plans by being stuck where you do not choose to be. Get the highest grade by comfortably learning the concepts of chemistry 1 and/or chemistry 2.

College Counseling

knowledge including science and technology reached the age of information overload, making a big impact on many other academic fields and professions. I personally kept up very well with all the numerous conventional professions with their new innovations, as well as brand new fields of study. This was accomplished over a long period of time by playing the role of teacher, mentor and counselor to high schools students outside school hours and on weekends. My counseling experience extends to the students I tutored, coming from all backgrounds. The most difficult yet, very important step is to find the student's passion, strength, and aspiration. Then, I use my expertise and knowledge to advise them on how and where to start, and help them map out the path leading straight to their destinations. In addition, I have helped students with the long tedious application process and how to reach their potentials once they are in college. Further, true success is not complete without adding the most important principles of education and life, which are prerequisites to accomplish all personal achievements.

I have a strong background in the basic sciences for those seeking to enter the dental profession. My specific experience includes preparing students for the dental admission test: DAT. This test requires detailed knowledge of biology and microbiology, chemistry, and physics. In addition, my specific expertise includes helping American students as well as foreign-trained dentists to prepare for the US license exam, required to practice dentistry in the United States. The test is composed of heavy knowledge of microbiology, gross and microscopic anatomy, biochemistry, physiology and more. My tutoring in this difficult field especially due to the vast amount of information, has been especially helpful for students with high ambition and determination. I can provide knowledge, explanation, answers to your most difficult questions in all the field-related basic and clinical sciences. Equally important is the fact that I can keep you motivated and guide you throughout this process, so you can keep making headways till you reach your commendable goal.

I have been teaching English as a second language (ESL) as far back as I remember. Recently, I have successfully taught ESL classes to immigrant individuals and families in the Skokie area. I possess excellent reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary skills. Moreover, I have energy, flexibility, patience, and melodic voice that helps ESL students improve their speaking and listening skills quickly.

My specialty in genetics and genetic analysis includes both (Mendelian) classical genetics, and (modern) molecular genetics. Additionally, I specialize in microbial genetics which is essential to understand Molecular Biology. Do you have any difficulty understanding this subject? or you want to get the highest grade. Do not delay what you need to do next.

Geometry is one of these subjects that keeps appearing in many tests throughout academic life. Examples are schools' admission tests such as ACT, GMAT, and GRE. This means that geometry is one of my most taught subjects. Instead of memorization, I teach students the basis for geometric rules and how to apply them. This makes it easier to learn, retain and do very well in your class and future tests that are coming sooner than later. Do not postpone learning this vital subject to your future.

I have a special talent for teaching standardized graduate college entrance tests such as the GMAT exam. My extensive experience in teaching and tutoring arithmetic concepts, pre-algebra, algebraic equations, geometry, and other challenging math questions including word problems have built a unique background to tutor students all the principles in connection with the GMAT quantitative section. I can teach you what you need to know in an easy-to-understand way to get the best score that allow you attend the MBA Program of your choice.

The GRE is the one test that weighs heavily on the decision of the admission committee. I have helped many students with all or only part(s) of the test. First, my quantitative skills have boosted students' confidence to select the correct answer on math section. My extensive vocabulary, based on Greek and Latin as well as my copious readings, enables me to help students learn and retain the words. In addition, I have special techniques based on experience, so you can learn and utilize them on the verbal and written sections of the GRE exam.

I am fluent in oral and written Greek and have a long experience in teaching reading, writing, conversational as well as listening skills. Further, my students come from a variety of backgrounds and levels: basic, intermediate, and advanced. You can count on my knowledge, proven teaching methods, and above all my passion for one of the greatest and timeless languages of the world. Beside traditional methods, modern technology tools are integrated into the overall holistic teaching experience. I will attend to your special needs as a unique individual.

Microbiology is a very important subject in medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, etc. Microbial physiology, biochemistry and Genetics are what makes the subject challenging. In addition to my strong background in the above subjects, I have excelled in a large number of basic and clinical microbiology courses and labs at the undergraduate and graduate level. Further, I have completed an internship in a microbiology lab. Further, I have a long experience tutoring the subject successfully to many happy students.

Since I have a masters degree in clinical laboratory sciences, I had to complete more than a year of rotation in all the hospital labs. There we had contact with all health care provider including nurses. While nurses' work is very fulfilling, it is also very demanding. In addition to working side by side, I had to take conference classes very often. These included patient's health protection and promotion, psycho-social maturity, pharmacological & parenteral therapies, safety, infection control and risk reduction. Further, I have taken, practiced, and tutored the very classes needed for everyday nursing profession. Examples of these classes are anatomy and physiology, clinical microbiology, clinical chemistry, pharmacology. and patient care and management. My students have and will learn the basic concepts needed to pass this nationally required test.

Physical Science

The first degree I earned was a bachelor of science in chemistry from DePaul University. Classes included one year of each of the following sciences: college physics, general chemistry, orgo-chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical and geochemistry. In addition, I taught physical sciences to middle and high school students, tutored many students around the Chicago area, and evaluated and professionally scored national physical sciences tests including physics, chemistry, environmental sciences, physical geography, and geology for several years.

Physics and chemistry have more similarities than differences. Hence, they are both physical, quantitative, and experimental sciences. They both rely on measurements and have the motto "if you can measure it, you can conquer it". To become a Chemist, I had to take one year of Physics courses and labs. I also had to take on year of physical chemistry with labs. In addition, I have successfully taught physics to high school students, and tutored introductory physics to college students. Above all, I am patient enough to explain physical laws with visible examples, comparisons, and simple equations.

It has been said "Physiology is the mother of medicine". Since I am trained and certified as a medical laboratory scientist, I am an expert in physiology. Additionally, I taught human biology (classes and labs)to high school students covering all cells, tissues, organs and systems of the human body. Further, I tutored many happy college students from local colleges and universities.

TEAS refers to test of essential academic skills. I have tutored students some or all of the subjects sections: math, science, reading comprehension, English and language structure. Many of my students' goals were to prepare to enter competitive post-high school programs primarily nursing. My students were and are literally amazed and expressively grateful to have them get ready for the test in the shortest time.
