I am a certified secondary teacher--middle school science and high school biology. My most recent teaching experience includes a summer school position in a high school science classroom. I student taught at a Gurnee, IL high school and completed an internship at a Waukegan middle school. As an undergraduate, I completed a thesis on social learning and how it affects isolated rats, which may be a potential model for autism. I also attended some conferences to present the above mentioned research.
As a teacher, I believe it is important for me to teach my students skills that they will be able to use during subsequent years of schools. My hope is to use this same approach as a tutor. I want to make sure that I am sharing valuable strategies and content knowledge that will be transferable.
