Graduating from Northern Illinois University was one of the greatest experiences in my life. It helped me to learn more about my abilities and gave me the confidence to know that I have the ability to now help teach others what I know. Since graduating, I have tutored different age groups ranging from middle school to many adults who are taking computer classes to better themselves for the ever changing, fast-paced world. I try to meet with each person that I am going to tutor in order to develop a plan of action to help them learn. Some people are visual, auditory, hands-on, or all of the above. In order to learn something, it has to be explained to you in a fashion that you understand. Getting to know who I am tutoring helps me to develop a more one-on-one session that will hopefully enable that person to become confident in the knowledge they are wishing to learn. I joined WyzAnt in order to allow students and their parents to hopefully find someone they feel they can trust and depend on. While tutoring, the material is important, but time should not be. I like to make sure that when I leave someone after tutoring them, they feel confident enough that they have successfully learned what they needed to. That is what tutoring for me is about, making sure the one-on-one interactions create a positive experience and also a knowledgeable one.
