I have a Bachelors in Psychology. I have 2 Masters. One is in Human Resources and Labor Relations. The other degree is a MBA where I focused on Marketing and Finance.

I also completed over 30 exams in order to achieve 5 insurance designations.

My professional career focus in on training and development I worked specifically in this role and now in sales. I enjoy working with others creating training plans for a business or tutoring people in a specific subject matter.

I excel in taking tests. I completed the entrance exam tests and scored well on them in order to enter school. These tests include GRE, LSAT, GMAT, ACT, SAT, etc. I can show you ways to memorize words, skim thru reading passages, use logic and problem solving to eliminate answers, and other methods to improve your test score.

Algebra 1

I took many math classes in high school and calculus in college.

American History

I took AP US History in high school. I continue to read on the internet about historical events and have very good recall to go over with students.

Biology

I am currently taking classes and applying to nursing programs. I recently completed my CNA course and anatomy. I am in physiology now. I enjoy learning about how the body works and plan to continue this further study.

Chemistry

I took AP chemistry back in high school and really enjoyed learning how equations worked, doing lab experiments, and studying for the AP exam.

Vocabulary

By helping students study for various entrance exams, I have increased my overall vocabulary of the English language. I can come up with easy memorization tools for students to learn and recall new vocab words.

Grammar

Thru WyzAnt, I have tutored students on various writing assignments and different entrance exams. Grammar plays an important role for one to accurately comprehend the writer's meaning. I can help you review grammar in your assignment and give you tips to correct it when needed.

Microsoft Excel

In various work projects and school assignments, I had to use Excel. I took a formal class and am very familiar with making formulas, utilizing various tools/functions, and setting up spreadsheets for presentations.

General Computer

I have been playing with computers since the IBM PC Jr came out many years ago. I stay on top of new technology related to software and hardware content.

Microsoft Word

I have been using MS Word since its inception. I am familiar with how to do word processing and how to use keyboard strokes instead of the mouse to save time.

Microsoft PowerPoint

I have done many presentations and training courses and utilized PowerPoint. I'm very familiar with the basics. I also know how to make them "pop" using animations, color, different text/image boxes, etc.

Prealgebra

I took many math classes in high school and calculus in college.

Reading

I enjoy reading and writing. I have a strong grasp on grammar, spelling and other related issues to English.

Writing

I used to write spec scripts, screenplays, fiction stories, along with essays for school and work related subjects. I can help you write strong statements based on what you are passionate about or what you have to write for a school project.

Geography

I have studied maps, globes, and internet sites to learn about where countries are located. I am fascinated with the concept of continent drift. I am great at helping people memorize country locations, flags, and other related issues.

English

I have a strong grasp of the English language in issues related to grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. I also continue to learn new languages so I can further see how they compare to English.

Accounting

In my MBA courses, I had to take accounting classes so we understood how to read financial statements. In my current positions, issues with taxes come up and I have to have a general understanding of how they apply.

Psychology

My bachelors degree from University of IL is in Psychology.

Anatomy

I recently took an anatomy course. I earned B's on all lecture exams while working 2 jobs.

Physiology

I enjoy learning how about how the body functions and how different systems work together. I can go over basic book information as well as issues revolving around lab exams.

Literature

I love to read. I took AP English in high school and read many classics. We also analyzed them as well. In addition to current fiction, I continue to read older books because many great themes and characters originate from classic literature.

Economics

I have an MBA in Marketing and Finance and took Econ classes as an undergrad and in graduate school.

GRE

I enjoy reading and writing. I have a strong grasp on grammar, spelling and other related issues to English.

I also have taken many entrance exams over the years such as GRE, LSAT, etc.

Proofreading

I will review your writing assignments for issues like spelling, grammar, punctuation, and the general meaning/idea of what you intended.

GED

I have completed high school and earned 3 college degrees. I am also taking additional science courses, computer science, and language learning as time permits. I can help you pass high school related courses.

SAT Reading

I can go over specific strategies on how to pick fill in the blank answer and how to eliminate some answers to help you find the right one on the critical reading so you have enough time to review it at the end.

SAT Writing

I have a strong background in writing in the school setting along with creative writing. I can help you form essays using an agenda, thesis statements, concluding summary, etc.

Nursing

I have worked in a hospital for the past 2 years. I have experience as a CNA and scored a 98% on the NLN exam. I was accepted into a formal nursing program.

GMAT

I took the GMAT in order to get into a MBA school. I do well on test taking strategies like time management, process of elimination, reading comprehension, math, etc. I can review these with you.

PSAT

I have been helping students with the ACT and SAT. I can apply those skills to the pre-entrance exams as well.

I also have taken many entrance exams over the years such as GRE, LSAT, etc. I have various strategies that can help your son/daughter.

ACT Reading

There are various methods I use to help students. These include how to properly eliminate answers, sorting thru the dense material for responses, skimming the paragraph and similar ideas that should help.

ACT English

I've been studying ACT English along with other grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation drills on a regular basis for the past year. I've helped students read through their papers to improve their English skills. In turn, these actions help them with their ACT English and my understanding as well.

ACT Science

I have a strong passion for science courses. I took biology, chemistry, physics, and AP Chemistry in high school. I took some chemistry classes as an undergrad, too. I recently took anatomy and a physiology course. For the NLN exam, I received a mid-90 on the science section.

I enjoy working with kids and have good background in higher level math and science courses.

Basketball

I played intramural basketball in high school and college. I know the rules, basic drills, how to shoot, pass, etc.

I also have taken coaching courses thru the Buffalo Grove Park District and coached soccer the last 2 years.

The coaching techniques I learned are universal and can apply across all sports.

Baseball

I played little league baseball for many years as a child.

I've been to 19 of the 30 baseball stadiums. I know the rules, how to play, and how to coach.

I coached little league soccer for the past 2 years at BG Park district and another league.

Chess

I have played chess since junior high school. I also have explained how the game's objective, what each piece is capable of doing, and strategy to other friends and family members who did not know how to play.

Business

I have an MBA in marketing and finance, started my own business, and have worked in sales, marketing, HR function.

NCLEX

I have worked in a hospital the last 2 years in a direct patient setting. I recently took the NLN exam which is a precursor to nursing school and scored in the 98% on 3 hours of sleep scoring in the nineties in all sections. I have taken CNA course, anatomy, physiology, and training courses at the hospital.

Public Speaking

In my prior job, I had meetings with my employees where I would speak in front of up to 80 people at a time. I have performed in front of audiences doing improv comedy thru Second City and other schools. In my sales job, I have given presentations on insurance and finance to customers and at local libraries and events.

I feel comfortable speaking in front of a small or large group and can pass some skills on to others.

Career Development

In college, I worked in the career counseling center where we would help students and alumni create and improve their resume, mock interviewing, and career searches. My HR experience allowed me to review resumes, conduct real interviews with candidates, and discuss how they could help our company.

College Counseling

I provided college and career counseling at the University of IL. We would discuss with students issues such as entrance exams, placement tests, enrollment procedures, CLEP/AP exams, ratings of schools, essay writing, and mock interviewing.

Marketing

I have an MBA with a focus in marketing. In my sales job, I have to constantly market myself and our products/services in order to achieve work related and financial goals.

Microsoft Windows

I have been using MS Windows since it came out in the early 90s. I am very familiar with navigation, keyboard shortcuts, how programs interact within Windows and other related topics.

Series 63

I have 8 years of experience selling financial and insurance products. We are required to be licensed and I took the 63.

I had to study for this test and do continuing ed.

Series 7

I have been in the financial/insurance industry for almost 9 yrs. I have taken Series 6, 63, and 65 tests and passed. I have earned 5 insurance/financial related designations. I have tutored a student on Series 65 and helped him pass the exam.

Speech

Over my career, I have had to give training presentations in small and large groups. I have performed in Second City student shows. I now have to present information to clients in order to educate them about their insurance products. I feel very comfortable speaking in front of a group and can pass on these skills.

Tax Preparation

I've done my own taxes for the last 10 yrs. I took a preparatory class thru Jackson Hewitt on how to do taxes for customers. I've taken Master level courses in accounting, finance, and economics. I've spoken with CPA on tax advice, estate issues, and deductions/credits.

Nutrition

I have been interested in food science since I took chemistry classes in high school. I seek out websites, books and magazines on proper nutrition. Also, there is a recent book out by the former Cleveland Clinic director and head surgeon on how incorporating a vegan lifestyle can eliminate all heart disease in America.
