I have taught college level Spanish since 1993. I enjoy working with students who want to learn Spanish in order to communicate. I believe that language is a "window to the world" and I want to help open my students up to the world of Spanish speakers. I include cultural and personal contexts to make the Spanish language come alive. I have lived in and/or traveled to Spain, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Mexico. My passion is for the many Spanish speakers who live in the United States, and helping my students make connections across language and cultural divides. I love to work with small groups and individuals.

I teach all levels of college Spanish, from elementary to advanced reading, writing and speaking. My method is communicative, and I follow Krashen's input/output theory, which holds that in order to be able to produce meaningful language, one must have received many hours of input in that language. Therefore I focus on providing reading and listening exercises as input and use grammar as a tool towards effective communication
