I have been a student of French for approximately 15 years, having recently completed a Master's in French Studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. During my time as a graduate student I taught 100-level undergraduate French courses. I have spent copious time abroad in France and elsewhere in Europe, so I can bring the practical, real-world cultural aspects to my language teaching abilities.
During my time abroad in France I had clients ranging from age 9-26 who I gave private ESL lessons to, and to this I can bring my knowledge of learning a second language, which gives me a special edge and insight into the learning process.
I hold a BA in French and Art History also from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, so I have an extensive knowledge of the humanities, as well as a personal interest in the arts which I try to bring to all my language lessons to really enrich the language-learning experience!
Beyond my academic training, I have lots of experience tutoring in elementary school settings in subjects like reading, social studies, ,math and English. I love teaching, and my students always find my lessons engaging and fun, so much so that I was consistently listed as one of the teaching assistants at UIUC who received a rating of "excellent" from their student evaluations.
I look forward to creating lasting tutoring relationships, and sharing my passions for French, literature, and the arts with you!
à très bientôt!
