I use practical examples to demonstrate the main points. With ESL speaking, we may listen to tapes and practice using real live situations to demonstrate the point. By using picture cards and word cards we may create a visual understanding that will bring the concepts together. Journals will allow us to see that the spoken words can be written and understood.
I find when using all of the above methods, learning takes place. I received my ESL certification from McHenry County College. My practical experience was obtained both in the classroom setting and tutoring on a 1-to-1 basis.
