My name is CaReese and I love science. I graduated with a BA in Biology/Pre-Med. I have a strong knowledge base in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and pathology. I am pretty well versed in other areas (organic chemistry, zoology, standardized test prep, etc), but I feel that I am strongest in the biological sciences.
I am also very strong in reading and comprehension, especially for standardized exams. I have a wide vocabulary, and I excel on the verbal reasoning aspects of standardized exams. I love reading and I definitely feel that I can help students prepare for the exams.
While I do not teach as a profession, I have a passion for teaching and seeing students succeed. Over the years, I have served as a tutor for many. I've done small groups as well as one-on-one tutoring. In the past I have tutored biology, high school chemistry, undergraduate level organic chemistry, botany, and graduate level histology. I really enjoy tutoring, and I try to make the experience enjoyable for the student.
My tutoring methods are diverse. I reinforce what is taught in school, but I also prepare for new material. I am a firm believer in learning my teaching, and I find ways to have the student demonstrate their knowledge by asking questions, or by having the student play tutor while I assess their mastery of the material.
As much as I love to learn new things, I have lots of non-academic interests. I love to cook, but baking is my specialty. Other interests include traveling, reading, writing, knitting, and shopping (of course!).
