Good day ladies and gentlemen,
I hold a master's of science in biomedical visualization and a bachelor's degree both fine art and multimedia. For the past few years, I have been a full-time medical-legal illustrator, animator, and consultant to attorneys and leading providers of medical-legal exhibits. I have ample experience in the arts, both in traditional mediums and extensively in digital art. I have provided council to attorney's and medical device companies in the areas of graphic design, illustration, concept drafting, and general anatomy for attorney's who need to understand the medical cases in which they are working on. My master's degree was heavily based in the sciences of pathophysiology, anatomy, microbiology, and specifically head and neck regional anatomy (for surgical dentistry).
Growing up with both parents as teachers, who are still teaching or tutoring subjects like English and psychology, I have always enjoyed working with others to help pass along knowledge in an effective and compelling manner.
I believe that I can assist those who want to learn effectively, and once engaged, we can tailor the tutoring sessions to real-world applications if desired. Many science topics are quite complex, and there is a lot to know of the human body when it comes to anatomy. Being a visual person, I offer a more visual approach to learning.
I have both published and formatted books for print using the InDesign program. I have also used InDesign to create pamphlets / brochures for print that both incorporate not only text and graphic elements, but directly import and/or create vector based imagery within InDesign.
I have been a professional artist for over a decade now. I have spent 3+ years as a medical-legal illustrator and animator, as well as many years before that illustrating journals, books, and atlases for various print or digital output. I have directed dozens of internship attendees while supervising the medical illustration department and have been published using several illustration techniques such as: pen and ink (traditional and digital sim), airbrush (traditional), graphite, and etching / engraving.
I have a clear and concise method to address the ever popular perspective drawing conundrum and have successfully utilized all my color theory training in almost every aspect of conceptualizing.
Aside from my professional work, I have had gallery showings at various locations going on for over a decade which include graphite and pen and ink work.
I have spent the last 3 years as a medical-legal exhibit specialist. In other words, I have not only created all the artwork associated with trial exhibits, but I also created graphic layouts unique to nearly every case - which are generally enlarged and printed to 30 x 40 in. and presented in courts of law. I have also created the entire graphic design layout for several books, numerous pamphlets / brochures, and many other print / digital products, such as pharmaceutical packaging and medical device packaging.
I also utilize all aspects of design theory, color theory, text placement and text formatting options when addressing design projects.
