After studying early childhood education for several years, I finally decided to pursue my love of photography. I started out working in a commercial photography studio for three years; I decided to go back to school about a year into working there. I ended up having to leave to completely focus on my education and artwork.
Many people ask, “What do you like to photograph?” Well, I believe that Ben Long said it best when he stated “I like to shoot light because without light there can be no photograph.” In other words I enjoy photographing the particular scenarios in which the light inspires me to create a work of art through the lens of my camera.
I am currently studying fine art, concentrating in photography, at University of Illinois at Chicago. As I approach my senior year this fall I find that out of all the mediums, photography is a particularly hands-on learning experience. However I do have a few places I refer to when help is needed. However, nothing beats hands on experience.
