Hello,

I'm Brian. I'm a teacher and writer originally from Chicago, Illinois. I have almost two years of experience teaching English internationally, and I've recently returned to Chicago to continue my teaching career here.

I taught for one year in Thailand, and for seven months in Colombia. I have a bachelor's degree in interactive design and a master's degree in international journalism. I've published three books, and had many journalism articles published by various online and print outlets in the U.S. and the U.K.

I approach my teaching, writing, and everything else I do, with a deep and innate interest in people. I get to know my students and teach to their interests and comfort levels. I believe that learning can/should be fun, and that there should be many laughs had along the way. This is how I try to approach every lesson, whether it involves roleplaying, storytelling, singing, songwriting, reading, listening, poetry, gameplay, student interviews, drawing, story acting, etc. I've worked with my previous students on everything from Beatles' songs and Bukowski poems to straight grammar and pronunciation and slang, and I've thoroughly enjoyed watching them engage and progress along the way.

Thanks for your time,
Brian
