I teach full-time as a college professor and have been teaching general biology, anatomy/physiology, pathophysioloy, pharmacology for nurses, medical terminology, and human biology, for more than 10 years.

A lot of students have come up to me saying that they have benefited greatly from the way I teach: which is to make the concepts come alive by giving real-life examples, constantly making sure that the student is engaged and connected, and explaining complex concepts in simpler terms.

But, I think the most important reason why a student would respond and learn well from a teacher/tutor is when he/she perceives that the teacher/tutor is genuinely concerned about his/her learning.

Whether it is the classroom environment or the tutoring environment, the goal is to develop and/or reinforce higher-thinking skills: critical thinking skills. These are the one we emphasize when we teach/tutor. We do start with the basics, the building blocks and build up from there.

I am excited that you are taking this step to help you in your academic success.

Good luck!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
