I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a teaching major in Language Instruction (English) and Illinois Secondary teaching certificate with endorsements of Chinese Mandarin and ESL.
Before I came to the United States, I had been a full-time educator in a key high school in Shanghai China for four years. Besides giving lessons to help students have a command of English, I also worked as a class teacher who functioned as a guidance counselor, helping students work out a plan for solving their difficulties, giving them information on matters important to success and also establishing a feeling of mutual understanding between them and teachers. As an English teacher and class teacher, I discovered that students were quite comfortable with me and opened up to me with their issues – and this seemed to occur quite naturally. I consider it an honor and also a trust. After I came to the United States, I got endorsements of Chinese mandarin and ESL and started to be a Chinese teacher.
I am a professional educator with great patience and enthusiasm. My goal is to try my best to help you with your Chinese Mandarin or English until you succeed.
