--- CURRENTLY SEEKING STUDENTS ---

I am a practicing mechanical engineer with bachelor's and master's degrees from Purdue University. Throughout my career I've always found ways to teach and give back to the technical community. My professional teaching experience started in graduate school as an engineering teaching assistant with laboratory, lecturing, and mentoring responsibilities for 30 students. During this time I also tutored undergraduates in one-on-one sessions. Most recently I have been tutoring engineering students at Northwestern University and through WyzAnt.

I live in the north side, work in the loop and commute by the CTA.

Best fit students for me include high school through undergraduate-level students seeking help in algebra, trigonometry, calculus, physics, inorganic chemistry, statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and machine design. I am also comfortable helping students or professionals prepare for standardized tests including the ACT, SAT, and the GRE.

Pay is negotiable as I am willing to negotiate based on commute, hours per week, or student age, subjects taught, etc.

Reach out if you are interested in the services of a young engineering professional.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Mechanical Engineering

I have completed a BS (2006) and MS (2008) in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University where I have taken differential equations and advanced mathematics I and II. I have applied differential equations in most of my course work. I have also recently passed the IL state engineering exams which include engineering mathematics. Currently I am a practicing mechanical engineer.

Fantastic Person and a Great Tutor — I am taking a college level heat transfer course as an undergrad and was seeking help for some extra lessons on the side. Andrew came through on such short notice and gave me the help that I needed to head into my exam with confidence. He explains things very well and is very knowledgeable. Much better I would guess than those old timers who haven't been in school for 30 years. I will definitely ...
