I have a bachelor's degree from Columbia College in American Sign Language-English Interpretation. I currently teach sign language in a high school and also have some tutoring experience. In addition, I have worked as an interpreter for 2+ years in a variety of settings including classrooms, theatrical performances, medical appointments, lectures, and even a cruise. I enjoy teaching others how to communicate visually by using a hands-on approach. I also love being involved and socializing within the Deaf community. Interpreting license can be shown upon request.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have a BA in American Sign Language (ASL)-English Interpretation from Columbia College Chicago (2012). I passed the state licensure exam about two or three years ago but have since decided I prefer teaching. I have worked as an ASL tutor over the summer and am currently teaching ASL at a local high school.
