Hi all,

My name is Tanvi and I'm a student at UChicago. I've had extensive experience tutoring and working with children of all ages. For example, I've been working in an elementary school in Woodlawn for 2 years and last summer I taught public speaking classes at training camps throughout China. Additionally, this summer I am working at a law firm in Chicago.

I am also very involved with Model United Nations, allowing me to really enhance my public speaking skills and train underclassmen in effective speaking as well. In this activity, not only am I apart of the leadership board, but I also frequently travel to compete at conferences all over the country.

Moreover, I also offer ACT/SAT prep as well as preparation in a number of other subjects!

Feel free to contact me if you have questions!

College Counseling

I currently attend a top tier college (University of Chicago) and have worked with many high school students in the college admissions process. For example, students from my alma matter high school frequently send me application essays and materials to edits and review. This has given me lots of experience into giving students useful feedback and understanding the admissions process. Lastly, I have spent time working at the UChicago Admissions Office, which has given me insight into how the other end of the process works.

Criminal Justice

Currently I work at a law firm so I am familiar with the formal legal process that criminal justice must go through. Moreover, I have worked at Human Rights law clinics at the UChicago Law School, so I have had the practical experience necessary to understand how criminal justice plays out. Lastly, I am minoring in 'Human Rights' and have taken extensive coursework in the area, meaning that I have a strong theoretical and analytical background as well.

Public Speaking

I participate extensively in Model United Nations on campus, an activity which requires high-level public speaking skills and interpersonal skills. I have worked with underclassmen and younger students extensively on improving public speaking skills through speech drills, etc. Moreover, I spent a summer in China teaching a public speaking class to students ranging from 10-18, thus I am experienced in giving useful feedback and working with ESL students as well.
