I am a certified elementary teacher (K-6) moving to Chicago this summer. I have worked with children in the classroom for 6 years and am experienced in helping the most struggling readers reach their goals. I have worked with Everyday Math, enVision and Investigations math curricula and I am confident about my abilities to teach math concepts to elementary school students. I can also help with writing skills and grammar, phonics, science, social studies, organization and study skills.
I have also been studying French for over 10 years and have lived and worked in France through study abroad and The Experiment in International Living as a group guide. My bachelor's degree is in French and I spent a summer studying at the Middlebury French Language School in 2011.
This summer I will start my MA in Educational Technology through the University of Connecticut and plan to receive my degree in the summer of 2014.
I like to make learning engaging and to connect academic subjects while teaching. I am committed to helping students feel successful and confident in the fact that their hard work will help them reach their goals. I also like to have fun when I teach, and strive to bring my love of learning and reading to all the students I work with.
