Bible Studies

I hold a Ph.D. degree in Biblical Studies from McMaster Divinity College (2008) as well as an Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary (2002). I have been teaching biblical and theological studies at universities and seminaries since 2002. I have taught courses at the master's level both overseas (Taiwan) and in North America.

Chinese

I am a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese. My doctoral thesis deals with Mandarin Chinese as well as Classical Chinese, specifically with Verbal Aspect of Mandarin and Classical Chinese. My thesis is published. I have published essays on the subject of Chinese linguistics as well as translation. I am also a free lance translator (Chinese to English and English to Chinese), covering a wide range of subjects (biblical, legal, medical, scientific, technical, culinary, and scientific).

Classics

I have B.A. in Classical Greek from Calvin College (1998). My doctoral thesis deals with Greek, specifically with Verbal Aspect of Classical and Hellenistic Greek. My thesis is published.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
