I am a sophomore biochemistry major at the University of Illinois at Chicago, currently have a 3.33 GPA, and am also a member of the UIC honors college, an E-board member on UIC Society of Future Physicians, and a research assistant at the UIC College of Medicine. I tutored frequently in high school through my schools NHS chapter and I do a little bit at UIC. I really want to be a tutor again because I really enjoyed my experience tutoring in high school and that sense of satisfaction when my tutees did well. I miss that experience. I ended up in the top 10% of my graduating class, but I wasn't always that great of a student. I really had to develop a particular work ethic and embellish on my study skills to get to where I am today. I went from getting B's and C's to being a straight A student the latter two years of High School. I think as a tutor, I can really help kids unlock their potential so they don't have to go through a rough academic period. It doesn't take a genius to be a good student, it takes preparation and motivation. I think I can provide that preparation and motivation.
