Does your son or daughter want a 4 or 5 in World History or to study Archaeology?
I am an Australian Indiana Jones, working in the Near East to study ancient civilizations. With almost two decades experience as an excavator, I love to teach students about history and archaeology. I have taught online, in adult education, middle school, and high school. Since graduating with a dissertation from the University of Chicago, I have started a life-long learning network and I teach students of all ages.
I believe that World History, Art History, and Archaeology are important because they tell the story of our world. World History develops critical thinking and asks students to think through issues unique to each time and place. Art demands that we tap into our cultural side to understand how we as people create and share ideas visually that are central to our experiences and beliefs. Archaeology takes a third approach of interpreting the role of objects in our lives. Collectively, these three fields are the critical foundation for analyzing human civilizations.
