Hello, English learners!
My name is Moizza (rhymes with Louisa) and though I speak five languages, I love English. I grew up in a bilingual household where I was encouraged to read, write, and study to achieve mastery in English. As a result, I received a perfect score on the high school Advanced Placement (AP) English test and scored in the 99th percentile for the SAT and ACT tests. In college, I majored in Communication with a specialization in Linguistics. After that, I spent a year teaching English abroad through the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET). After getting my Master's degree in Social Science from the University of Chicago, I was recruited to work for the federal government in Washington, DC. For over two years, I kept up my teaching hobby as a volunteer instructor for immigrants and refugees from around the world. I have taught students as young as six and old as sixty. I enjoy designing creative and interactive lessons for younger students, but I also specialize in preparing adult learners for the TOEFL or university-level English. I received my certification to teach English as a Second Language (TESOL) in December 2012.
I can think of no better part-time occupation than helping others master this great--but challenging--language while meeting people from all over the world. So please drop me a line if you're looking for a fun, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable tutor!
