Whatever your educational goals are, I can help you reach them! Whether you want to:

Develop habits that make studying and learning easier,
Build confidence in yourself or your child, or
Just get through that one class that's driving you nuts...

I can help you identify your unique learning style and tailor our sessions to maximize your success.

For school-aged students (Pre-K through high school):
I have experience in tutoring in both specific courses as well as general education. My approach is to make the content "come alive" for your child, so that they can relate to it, engage it more readily, and achieve success in the classroom. I also have experience with students who have ADD or Asperger's, and recognize the unique learning needs of these children. With patience and empathy, I provide support for you and your child so that he or she can be successful in the often challenging classroom environment.

For college/university, college prep, and graduate school students:
College courses can often feel very different from when you were in high school, and I can help you develop study habits that will make you more successful in the college classroom. I also have expertise in several subjects, including social sciences and the humanities (psychology, sociology, English, religions, and Spanish).

I'm looking forward to working with you!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADD/ADHD

I have direct experience in both tutoring this population and treating it in psychotherapy. I have a PhD in clinical psychology; in my coursework we learned specific interventions for improving educational outcomes for this population.

Bible Studies

I have an undergraduate minor in Religion and Philosophy, where my coursework included Christian religion courses, World Religion, and Philosophy courses. I also have a Master's in Christian Leadership from Fuller Seminary.

General Music

I took 6 years of basic music lessons, played trumpet in an orchestra through high school (adding an additional 4 years of music instruction), and currently play guitar. I am familiar with music composition, and have taught guitar lessons.
