I enjoy working with adolescents and middle school-age students and helping them achieve their academic potential. My tutoring experience extends back more than a decade. Since early high school, I have tutored both peers and younger students. My students have included: special education, gifted, English Language Learners, music/arts students and students with disabilities. I have tutored math up to Calculus AP; English writing, comprehension and college essay instruction; science through AP physics; and test preparation for GRE, ACT, SAT as well as state-mandated tests in Illinois and Michigan. Finally, I am completing a Master's Degree in Bilingual Education at DePaul University, which encompasses both traditional teacher training and innovative approaches to language teaching and learning.

My tutoring style is personalized, in-depth, and FUN! I work closely with students to identify their strengths and areas of growth. We dive deep into study topics to ensure understanding and application to other subjects and the real world. We find ways to make learning fun and engaging, often incorporating pop culture and personal stories into the tutoring process. I routinely hear from my students that I make learning "cool" and that they look forward to our meetings. Their success demonstrated the effectiveness of the approach: increased GPA, higher test scores, and college acceptance, as well as intangibles like higher self-esteem, leadership skills, and self-direction.

Great Tutor — We not only spoke Portuguese together, we read it and translated my writing. We not only translated a lecture of mine, we also visited the place I am visiting in Brazil in order for me to know how to get around in Brazil. Adri is very intelligent, wise, and has a great knowledge of languages. Adri gives her students the opportunity to learn where they are, what they want, and designs her lessons ...
