I graduated from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) with an Engineering B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, with a minor in Polymer Science and Engineering. While at CWRU, I was a supplemental instructor for an introductory computer programming class, holding weekly sessions and grading homework and exams. I was also a paid tutor through CWRU's Peer Tutoring Program for three years, specifically focusing on math, science, and engineering core classes. For more than two years, I was the Training Director for CaseEMS, a liaison between CWRU students and the Cleveland Clinic EMS Academy. My main responsibility in this role was to organize EMT-Basic courses and help CWRU students succeed and graduate the course.
Prior to college, I attended the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA). I volunteered as a peer tutor for my residential building, responsible for holding weekly study sessions. In addition, I was a teaching assistant for multiple IMSA-sponsored programs and summer camps working with individuals ranging from grades 6-9.
As a tutor, I not only focus on the subject matter, but also on helping individuals develop other skills (e.g. time management, test-taking, etc.) that allow them to continue their success in future endeavors.
