I am currently serving as a full-time tutor for City Year Chicago, which is an Americorps volunteer program that works in high-need schools on the West and Southsides of Chicago. On a daily basis, I tutor ninth grade students in both small groups and individually in English and Language Arts, as well as providing whole classroom support. I also work with students in World Studies and Sciences, though not in a formal classroom setting.
Moreover, I have worked as a nanny and babysitter for children ranging from three months to ten years old for eight years.
I was recently accepted into the selective Chicago Teaching Fellows Program as a Special Education Fellow for the next school year in which I will teach my own classroom in a Chicago Public School.
Some of my interests include crafting, exploring the Chicago food scene and reading. I also love volleyball and played at a varsity level in college. I grew up on the Southwest side of Chicago and have three siblings.
Look forward to working with you soon!
