I'm a Ph.D. candidate at Northwestern University with years of experience helping high school and college students improve their writing.
I began tutoring fellow French students in grammar and vocabulary when I was still in high school. I majored in French in college, studied abroad in Paris for six months, and achieved near-native fluency in reading, writing, and speaking. Since then I've continued to work in the French language, winning a Fulbright grant to conduct dissertation research in France for a full year. So if you need someone to revise your French essay, help you with material that keeps tripping you up, or even just chat with you in French for an hour, I'm your guy.
Luckily, all that work in French has not hindered my ability to speak English... at Northwestern University I have taught numerous writing intensive courses, including multiple sections of Introduction to Fiction, a first-year research seminar in the Theatre department, and most recently a survey of theatre history. In all of these classes I meet with students one-on-one to improve their writing skills. I can help you too.
If you're going through the college application process, I'm also happy to help you improve your college essays. During my senior year of college I worked in the Admissions Office conducting applicant interviews and reviewing applicant essays to determine scholarship eligibility. I know what Admissions Officers are looking for, because, well, I worked for them, and they told me. I'd be happy to tell you.
