I am a graduate with a degree in Political Science/International Relations and with my accomplished knowledge, I feel it is best that I contribute to the growth of any student. I never had the opportunity to hire a tutor. Even when free tutoring was offered, I never felt good enough to be tutored. Now that my college days are over, I believe it is time to give back. If I can impact the education of one student, then certainly I have done for another what I couldn't do for myself.
In addition to my passion for teaching, I have experience tutoring different calibers of people. I have tutored refugees under a volunteer program that required them (refugees) to assimilate into the American system. I taught them not only how to speak English, but how to polish their appearance for the work force. In other words, I became their life coach. I have a year experience working with autistic adults. All of my autistic students depended on me to teach them how to sustain their well-being: educationally, physically and professionally. While my experience as a tutor to autistic adults was very much subject focused, I also had to teach them how to socially interact with other people.
I don't believe in rushing through a process. I believe in walking through a process. As a tutor, it is my role to guide each student on their path to excellence. It is my job to take baby steps with them. Everyone is different, everyone's learning style and capacity is also different. On that note, it is my job to carry that in mind while working hand in hand with my students. I intend to create a comfortable and healthy environment that would create a trust between my student and me.
I hope that I have been able to convince you that I would be the perfect tutor for you. If you agree with me, please feel free to contact me and let's work together towards your educational excellence.
