-Pablo Neruda
My immersion method is fun and interactive. If you allow me to take you on a few field trips, perhaps to a cafe, grocery store, library, or park- you'll see learning a language can be a less intimidating, more enjoyable practice. If we are learning reflexive verbs, I'll warn you, I may show up with a robe and toiletries to act out and narrate the process of getting ready in the morning. My students never forget the concept once they watch me pretend to get out of bed, shower and brush my teeth.
I am mad about French and Spanish literature, film and food. Paella and Beef Bourginon are regulars on my menu at home. I have 14 years of experience learning and teaching French and 9 years experience with Spanish.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in French and a Minor in Spanish from the University of Oklahoma. I also studied French at the University of Blaise Pascal in Clermont- Ferrand, France, where I received DELF French proficiency certification. After college, I spent another year in Peru teaching English at the San Agustin Language Institute in Trujillo, Peru- there I took private Spanish lessons daily.
I want language to be fun and exciting for you whether you are traveling abroad, struggling through high school or college language, or need a second language for your career.
