Dear Students,

My name is James. I've been working with students for over seven years as an educational consultant.

I scored a 1450 (730 Math; 720 Verbal) on my SAT I's (Back when the test was out of 1600) and at that point began to work as a SAT tutor with Kaplan Inc. Since then I've taught the ACT as well. More recently I've worked with students on the MCAT exam. On my MCAT I scored a 38R (14 PS, 11 VR, 13 BS). I've been tutoring with Kaplan as a MCAT instructor most recently and I'd love to share my teaching experience with you.

You'll find that I'm very committed to helping you achieve the score you want. I do ask YOU the student to do a few things to make sure that our time together is well spent. First, PLEASE TAKE A DIAGNOSTIC EXAM BEFORE WE BEGIN!!!!! This allows both of us to see where you stand, and from that set a target score. From that target score we can define how much time it will take to reach your goal. Next, WE MUST MAKE A SCHEDULE THAT WE ADHERE TO STRINGENTLY!!!!

ACT English

I work through Peterson's the REAL ACT book to help students achieve the score they expect. I'm confident in all areas of the ACT.

I work with students through full length practice tests each lesson. It can be tiring but it both builds a students familiarity with the questions and their endurance.

I have previously taught the ACT as a Princeton Review Instructor for the Math, Sciences Reading and English sections

MCAT

MCAT Tutoring: 2 Years

Tutoring Style: I believe in teaching through a semi-socratic method. This means I work one on one with you through the material rather than lecturing the material to you and doing the problems out and having you passively watch.
