I believe that one of the best parts of life is gathering information and knowledge, and I would like to be the positive influence that guides others on their path to higher education.
A little about me:
I was raised in a small town in south eastern Indiana. I attended public school through eighth grade before going to a small Catholic high school. There were only 60 kids in my graduating class! After eighteen years living in rural Indiana, I knew it was time for a change. I decided I was going to Chicago for college. I started at Loyola University as a chemistry major. By year two, I realized that advanced calculus and physics were not my forte, and I switched my major to graphic design/ studio art. I am very proud of my education at Loyola. Loyola's 'Core Curriculum' challenged me to study a wide range of subjects from philosophy, ethics, and religion to computer technology, music, and biology.
I met other students from all backgrounds and ethnicities, and made many friendships that I will probably maintain for the rest of my life. I was involved in volunteer programs and internships from Rogers Park to Armour Square, and I participated in many community events as a musician or exhibition artist.
Today, I am a guitarist in three bands, a freelance graphic designer, and a brand ambassador for a music company. One of my bands has had the great fortune of playing for audiences all over the United States, Canada, and Europe. While music and design are my main focus at the moment, I enjoy furthering my education on a wide variety of subjects. In my free time, I enjoy reading about subjects like chemistry, genetics, and cosmology. I also participate in free online classes from major universities in order to further my post-collegiate education.
I have great language skills, and I get along with almost everyone I meet. Let me know if you think I can help you achieve your learning goals!
