I am a 27 year old medical student with an undergraduate degree in English. I am currently in my last year of medical school and will be starting a residency next year in Psychiatry. Throughout my education I have always been involved in helping other students in my classes with studies and group studying. On numerous occasions throughout undergraduate and my medical school work I have volunteered to work in the classroom of the year behind mine to assist in teaching. This year I have the opportunity to serve as a teaching assistant in a class at my medical school for 1 month. I do not have formal tutoring experience, but feel that I have spent my educational years learning how to learn and how to help others learn in ways that are best for them and individualized. I have always and continue to get joy in helping others succeed and I feel that some formal tutoring experience would be a great way for me to help others and share some of my knowledge. In undergraduate I received a degree in English and certainly have a passion for literature. I then went back to school to complete my science prerequisites for medical school, and I am now about to complete my medical school education in June.
