My name is Andrew and I'm the right tutor for you.

I graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Philosophy. I have been tutoring all my life and recently began tutoring through WyzAnt in an effort to find more students. My specialties include math, reading, writing, and language arts. I have also taught karate for the last 12 years.

I prefer a hands-on approach to tutoring, which means a lot of interaction between tutor and student.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Martial Arts

I earned my black belt in 2000 at the age of 16. I have been practicing martial arts (Shotokan style Karate) for the last 19 years and teaching for the last 13 years. I have also been trained in other styles of Karate as well as Tae Kwon Do and Krav Maga.

Proofreading

I am an excellent proofreader with years of experience throughout high school, college, law school, and after. I have worked on law review articles, college essays, graduate school essays, and masters theses with tremendous success, and I look forward to working with you!

Spanish

I began studying Spanish in 1996 and easily passed my AP Spanish exam before taking the class. Since then, I have been devoted to becoming fluent in the language. I have studied in both Spain and Mexico, and I pride myself on being able to carry on conversations with ease. It's all about learning to think in another language. Once you've got that down, the sky is the limit. It's never too late to start learning, and I'd love to be the one to help you with your beginner or advanced Spanish classes!

Writing

I have been in love with writing since I was a young child, and I have been writing for pleasure for over 15 years. I have written for online magazines and journals, and I enjoy freelancing in my spare time. I also received my Bachelor's degree from the prestigious Department of Philosophy at Indiana University in Bloomington, where writing is held to the highest of standards. I very much enjoy working with people on their writing skills, and I pride myself on being able to turn around essays and stories in the most dire of situations. I have helped with college and graduate school admissions essays, papers for classes, fictional stories, and even masters theses. Writing is my passion, and I would love to be the one to be able to help you out!
