As an adult, I have worked as a professional actor. I hold a SAG/AFTRA union card. I have performed on stage, in video industrials, theatrical and independent feature films. As part of my training, I developed my own voice using the Lessac method. As a college composition professor, I often incorporated oral presentations as a way for students to learn to present their arguments.
I have been a published writer since the age of 15, when I published a poem in a state teacher's journal, then wrote a column for the local newspaper. I am a graduate of UIC's Writer's Program (MA), and continue to write and publish. I have also taught university-level composition for over 21 years. It is a pleasure to share this challenge and craft with my students.
