I am a former CPS teacher who offers ACT/SAT prep for high school students, ISAT/MAP test prep for elementary school students, and GRE/GMAT prep for adults.

I help students achieve higher classroom performance in math and reading comprehension. As a former CPS elementary school teacher, I have extensive experience working with students who are struggling to meet grade-level expectations.

I help high school students with their day-to-day academic coursework. I also help students improve their ACT and SAT scores. I was a teacher assistant in a CPS high school for two years, so I have experience helping teenagers reach their goals.

I help adult ESL students improve their accents and increase their fluency in English. I also help adults improve their GRE scores.

My Recent Test Scores:
GRE: Quantitative 162/170
Verbal 165/170

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I attended Wheaton College in Illinois, which is an evangelical private university. I took many courses in the New and Old Testaments. I received a minor in Theological Studies from Wheaton.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught fourth grade and second grade as a public school teacher in Chicago. Before working as an elementary school teacher, I worked for several years as a teacher's assistant. In that position, I assisted students with special needs in an elementary school. I have tutored students as young as 5 years old in reading. I have also worked one-on-one with elementary school students to help them develop their writing skills.

GRE

I scored a 165 on the Verbal Reasoning section of the GRE. I scored a 162 on the Quantitative Reasoning section. I scored a 4.5 on the Analytical Writing section.

Phonics

I have helped children learn phonics skills. I have used a variety of resources to help them learn letter sounds and put those sounds together. For example, I have used picture books, Spectrum workbooks, Bob books, iPad applications, and songs. I have been successful in helping children learn to read.
