Elementary (K-6th)
I have over 20 years experience in elementary education in the Chicago Public Schools. In addition to State of Illinois certification, I am additionally endorsed by the state in Math, Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies.
My years in the classroom have given me a keen insight into the problems most frequently associated with students with under-developed academic performance.
Phonics
As a teacher I have taught Reading for over 20 years, I have consistently employed Phonics strategies as a part of the key basics in developing a successful reader. My methods have proven to be successful with family members and countless students through my logical approach to Phonics.
Study Skills
It's not what you do, but how you do it! Sound familiar? Well, it's true. The time spent studying does not necessarily translate into time well-spent! Organization and coordinated study methods are the keys to a successful learner.
