I recently graduated with a both my Bachelors and Masters in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University. I have been tutoring math (Geometry to Multivariable Calculus) and science (Physics, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry) at both the high school and college level for four years. I'm extremely laid back and light-hearted, but I also expect a lot from my students.

I've never met a student who is incapable of getting an A. Everyone is capable of learning the material. Unfortunately, it's extremely difficult material to teach to a large classroom of students. Individualized help could be exactly what you have been looking for to push you over the edge. I look forward to tailoring a learning plan just for you.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

While in Engineering School at Northwestern I was required to take several trimesters of calculus and differential equations. I have worked with students in every single class from Algebra 1 to multivariable calculus.

ACT Science

I did Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern and have taken advanced science classes in nearly every field. I have also worked on the ACT with several students in the past.

Algebra 1

While in Engineering School at Northwestern I was required to take several trimesters of calculus and differential equations. I have worked with students in every single class from Algebra 1 to multivariable calculus.

Algebra 2

While in Engineering School at Northwestern I was required to take several trimesters of calculus and differential equations. I have worked with students in every single class from Algebra 1 to multivariable calculus.

Biostatistics

Within my Biomedical Engineering majors, I took several Biostatistics classes at both the Undergraduate and Graduate level. I will definitely mention that this class is all over the board when it comes to curriculum, but I can always figure out the approach of the professor.

Calculus

While in Engineering School at Northwestern I was required to take several trimesters of calculus and differential equations. I have worked with students in every single class from Algebra 1 to multivariable calculus.

Chemistry

Chemistry was my mainstay for a long time throughout High School and college. While I was a senior in High School, I attended a local college to take upper level Chemistry courses, and at Northwestern I started in Organic Chemistry. I have taught Chemistry the most of any of these subjects, and I have even written a few of my own chapters on subjects that students generally have trouble.

Geometry

While in Engineering School at Northwestern I was required to take several trimesters of calculus and differential equations. I have worked with students in every single class from Algebra 1 to multivariable calculus.

MCAT

I took the MCAT myself and got a 35, with a 12 on each science section. I have tutored every subject on the MCAT except for the Reading and Writing sections.

Organic Chemistry

I took Organic Chemistry at Northwestern, and I have tutored the subject to both Northwestern and Loyola students for the last two years.

Physics

Physics is second only to Chemistry for the sheer number of students I have worked with over the years. I feel like I have a special connection with tutoring physics because I personally had a horrible physics teacher in High School. When I went to Northwestern, I had a very limited physics background, so I had to learn it all on the fly. After working with many students in physics, I have a unique outlook on how students perceive the problems and how they need to be approached in order to learn the subject matter properly.

Prealgebra

While in Engineering School at Northwestern, I was required to take several trimesters of calculus and differential equations. I have worked with students in every single class from Algebra 1 to multivariable calculus.

Precalculus

While in Engineering School at Northwestern, I was required to take several trimesters of calculus and differential equations. I have worked with students in every single class from Algebra 1 to multivariable calculus.

SAT Math

While in Engineering School at Northwestern, I was required to take several trimesters of calculus and differential equations. I have worked with students in every single class from Algebra 1 to multivariable calculus. I have also worked with several students specifically studying for the SAT.

Trigonometry

While in Engineering School at Northwestern, I was required to take several trimesters of calculus and differential equations. I have worked with students in every single class from Algebra 1 to multivariable calculus.

AWESOME TUTOR ( A++++), will work with Lee again. — Lee did a great job at explaining helpful strategies to use when taking the ACT test. He reviewed concepts first and then went through multiple sample questions from the actual ACT test and, one by one, helped me to understand each question. I will definitely recommend Lee to my friends and family. He really boosted my confidence in taking the ACT. ...
