Before moving to Chicago, I spent a number of years as a high school psychology teacher at one of New Delhi's leading private schools. I love working with children and feel proud and happy to see them learn and grow. I am trained in Psychology and Counseling. Beyond my core subjects, I am also available to tutor in Elementary School-level subjects as well as Hindi.

I am pretty easy-going when it comes to tutoring and believe that one has to be really patient and not harsh while dealing with kids. One can't expect kids to learn in one go - I believe in responding to their needs quickly and providing them the confidence they need to learn.

Elementary (K-6th)

I can tutor basic elementary level reading, math, English, and science. I would prefer to have subjects/lessons/topics beforehand to make lesson plans and prepare tutor sessions.

Cooking

I can give lessons in basic Indian (mostly north Indian punjabi) cooking, which can be healthy and tasty at the same time. I can also teach quick, easy everyday healthy recipes like pastas, pizzas, baked salmon, basil chicken ,Thai curry chicken, salads. etc

Hindi

Having grown up in New Delhi, India, I am proficient in spoken and written Hindi. I also have a degree in Education and am a professionally trained teacher.

I believe that while it may be challenging for folks in Chicago to learn to speak Hindi properly and without an accent, it can be attained with practice.
