Hello! My name is Jessica, and I offer tutoring in English and law, as well as flute lessons.
I am a 2011 graduate of the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, where I earned a 3.076 GPA and a certificate in International Law. I am particularly strong in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, and I can offer helpful study tips that apply to any law school class. I also served as Senior Note and Comment Editor of the Journal of Contemporary Health Law and Policy, where I not only edited all student-published articles but also supervised the writing and editing process for all student-produced material on the Journal. My own article was published in my second semester on the Journal staff, and a second article is currently being prepared for publication in the Delta Theta Phi Adelphia Law Journal. Before law school, I sharpened my English and writing skills through several writing-intensive courses in the Grand Valley State University Honors College's curriculum, and I served as an editor for my high school newspaper and yearbook staffs.
I began playing the flute when I was eight years old, taking private lessons until I was twelve years old and joined the middle school band, where I was eventually made first chair. When I was thirteen years old, my former flute teacher asked me to fill in for her in a wedding performance when she got sick and could not perform. I played in the school band through my junior year of high school, playing in the marching band and concert band for three years, and adding the piccolo to my repertoire. I was also chosen for a special band/orchestra performance of the William Tell Overture in my junior year. While I have not played with any organized performing group or private lesson since high school, I have kept my flute with me and play occasionally to maintain my skills.
I strive for excellence in everything I do, and as your tutor, I will work with you to find the best way to help you achieve your best.
