I retired from university teaching in June, 2012. Taught at Northeastern Illinois University's Department of Communications, Media, and Theatre. I also lectured at Northwestern University, Roosevelt University, and Columbia College in Chicago.
My most rewarding teaching experiences were with students who needed extra help. Tutoring for students who qualified for my tutoring under ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) received many extra hours of personal tutoring. Other students without disabilities who fell behind in class received fewer hours of tutoring. On average, both types of students improved low initial grades of 'F' to 'B' by the end of the tutoring sessions.
Student evaluations from students in all my classes were uniformly excellent. Students at Northwestern University selected me as one of the 10 Top Public Speakers in Chicago.
I also worked at a number of Chicago Public Relations agencies. My specialties were speaker training, media relations, and electronic technology product publicity.
As a corporate magazine editor I supervised all aspects of the writing, editing, and production of a 48-page monthly magazine. I was also editor and publisher of a monthly technical newsletter.
