I encourage my students to become independent learners, insomuch to eventually eliminate the need for my services. Although I am confident in my ability to break down scientific concepts and principles, my goal is to guide the student through the lesson plan and develop crucial study skills, while resorting to explanations to avoid hindering the flow of the lesson. Unfortunately, most students who request tutoring in science have lost confidence in themselves from the shortcomings of the educational system. It is important for me to practice patience, empathy, and positive reinforcement to gain the student's confidence back.

I am a recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a double major in physics and chemistry, a minor in mathematics, and advanced coursework in molecular biology and astronomy. I have training and three years tutoring experience from my time in college.
