I am an undergraduate at the University of Illinois Chicago studying Biochemistry, Pre-med, with a minor in math. Over my past year I have set curves for my Math and Sciences classes. For example, in my Chemistry classes, the professors offered me research positions which I have declined due to timing conflicts.
When I master a subject I take it from multiple angles. For example when learning chemistry I always try to incorporate the biological aspect of living things into my studies. In math, I can incorporate many problems into everyday life. I have helped friends out in sciences classes and pin point there weakness in the subject. It is easy for me to narrow down weaknesses in study habits and can improve them in students.
Every student I have tutored has saw an improvement in there grades. One experience was in high school, when I helped a very good friend study for the AP calculus exam. I narrowed down every method in the course. Before I started tutoring her she was receiving a 1 on all practice exams. When she took the actual AP exam she received a 4, which is passing and received college credit.
