In order to address a wide range of issues among students, I would use my own formal and informal assessments, Individual Educational Plans which include behavior plans, the collaboration of ideas through grade level teams and parental and student input to fully challenge and enlighten every aspect of my teaching. All of these components are necessary in order to make it the best individual educational experience for every student.
I have been able to support my caseload of students at their instructional levels in all content areas. I use remedial material to assist with reading, writing, vocabulary, and math deficits. I teach grade level curricula with high standards, based upon national common core standards.
In my class I have used informational text to support reading fluency, daily writing activities, and to improve upon vocabulary and spelling knowledge. Materials I have used are the Quick Reads Reading Fluency Program, Wilson, Read 180 and My Sidewalks on Reading Street Intensive Tier 3 Reading Intervention. The materials I have used for my autistic class have been Laureate and Teach Town Intervention. These programs have helped with instruction in reading, math and life skills and the ability to measure growth, strengths and weaknesses.
