When I first began my tutoring job back in January 2012, I immediately fell in love with it. Nothing brightens my day more then helping someone understand a subject that is complex to them. As soon as I started the tutoring job, it wasn't easy since there were plenty of kids who had road blocks in their minds when it came to retaining information. After coming up against those walls, I didn't allow that to shake me. I actually researched in depth how the mind works and how the brain retains information. I learned numerous interesting facts about the brain and learning and I apply them in my own personal life now. An interesting fact that some may not know about is that after 24 hours, a student can only retain 5 percent of what was taught in a lecture. However, if the student were to practice what was said in the lecture, they could retain 75 percent within 24 hours of what was taught in the lecture. There are countless interesting facts I've discovered about the brain and what I mentioned earlier is only the tip of the iceberg. I'm willing to share all of my secrets about the brain and of course create better and more fun ways to study and retain information. Like I said earlier, I am in love with the idea of helping others understand concepts that are difficult for them to grasp. It gives me a great feeling of satisfaction and I'm sure you'll be able to sense my passion for your success during the tutoring sessions.
