Hello Future Reading Scholars and Parents,
I am an elementary teacher with over 15 years of classroom teaching experience. I am a certified Type 03 educator for the state of Illinois. I like the hands-on learning approach which means you (your child)will learn how to read, write, and interpret what you read better through your language experiences with me!
I incorporate arts and crafts in just about every lesson. I believe students learn more when they can touch and feel what they read. My students' experiences with books include guessing the ending from the beginning, drawing, writing, role-playing, designing a new cover, developing a new conclusion, and sometimes watching a special DVD of the book. My students record their thoughts into specially-made journals (like voice recorders or paper journals).
If time allows, we can take field trips to the museum, to the theatre, to the zoo, and to the library for fun, relative reading activities. The computer programs and on-site learning opportunities I have for you will help you (your child) to remember more of what you read. Therefore, making you (your child)the number one reading scholar in your (his/her)class!
