I was trained in a great program at UW-Milwaukee set-up exclusively for educators. I received my student teaching at the Multi-Cultural Community High School and went on to teach the next year at Wilmot Union High School in Wilmot, Wi, (near Lake Geneva), where I was chosen as "Teacher of the Year."
I've advised several student newspapers and also written numerous freelance articles and done photographs as well for The Milwaukee Journal, The Milwaukee Sentinel, Vintage Guitar Magazine, Acoustic Guitar Magazine and so forth. My love for music in general and guitar in particular has led me to giving many private lessons on a regular basis and I've also taught lots of sections of guitar classes at high schools. I've headed four truly exciting expeditions to the blues sites, working studios and roadhouses located in Memphis, Tn and Clarksdale, Ms.
Besides these things I've also taught Creative Writing and Composition at UW-Parkside in Kenosha, Wi and even portrait photography at Carthage College, located along the shores of Lake Michigan!
I have taught Senior Level High School English for thirty plus years in Kenosha, Wisconsin. In addition, I've written numerous free-lance stories for a variety of newspapers and magazines.
Actually, I was also named "Teacher of the Year" at Wilmot Union High School, which is in Southern Wisconsin. Now that I've moved to Chicago, (which is a good base for my wife and daughter), tutoring seems like an ideal situation for me, and, hopefully, for my pupils as well!
I have taught GED coursework at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Wi. I've also helped many high school students prepare for GED Testing.
I have taught private guitar instruction for many years and am very good with students of all ages. I'm very patient with beginners and both younger and older students, and I've taught high school level group guitar courses as well.
Although I'm willing and able to instruct in most facets of guitar playing, I'm especially keen on blues styles and, in fact, have my own blues band.
