Dear Students and Parents,
I am a writer and sound designer living in Chicago. I specialize in performance studies and English, but I am confident teaching many subjects. I have always loved learning, sharing knowledge, and encouraging new ideas and developments, and I hope that you will think of me for your tutoring needs.
I graduated from high school with honors. Even in high school, I helped guide and train people as editor of Calliope, the school poetry magazine. For college, I chose Northwestern University, where I majored in Communications. At Northwestern I was both a Communication Century Scholar and a Kaplan Scholar; this allowed me access to courses and professors of a high level early on in my college career.
In my time in the Northwestern theatre community, I worked on dozens of productions and contributed to many student groups. I was the executive director of Northwestern University Radio Drama, which produces a live radio comedy show every week, as well as the technical director of both Sit & Spin Productions and Pretend Productions, two student theatre companies. Through these companies, I produced a good deal, but more importantly, I learned how best to instruct and guide others in support of their goals. I am a strong believer that everything we do as people is helped and shaped by those around us, and I think a positive environment is the best thing for someone trying to learn.
Since graduation, I have worked as a freelance sound designer and writer; you can hear my work all around Chicago. I still love learning and teaching, and am confident that I can connect with any student who shares a desire to learn. I would love to meet with you or your child and see if we are compatible.
Thanks for your consideration!
Daniel C.
