For the last five years I have taught and am still teaching as an adjunct professor at Harold Washington College, one of the Chicago City Colleges. I taught remedial mathematics, Basic Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, and Elementary Statistics. During my graduate school years I tutored, worked as substitute teacher for the Dayton Board of Education, and had a teaching assistanceship at my university.
I learned mathematics thinking it was a game and things to discover not a lesson to be studied or learned. I believe many students have difficulty with mathematics because they take it too seriously and became intimidated. I want to relieve the students of the stress and help them to discover the fun of working a problem and exciting pleasure of solving difficult problems.
